Relief Material Camp Organized for Flood-Affected Families in Punjab
The state of Punjab is currently facing the most devastating flood disaster of the past fifty years. Due to incessant rainfall and flooding, villages, towns, and cities have been severely affected. Thousands of families have been rendered homeless, crops and property have been destroyed, and millions of people are struggling for food, clothing, and other essential supplies.
In this difficult time, under the leadership of Mr. Mudit Aggarwal (Member, AICC), the three Block Congress Committees of the Chandni Chowk Assembly Constituency along with all Congress workers have stepped forward to fulfill their social responsibility. As part of this initiative, a special “Relief Material Camp” was set up near Fatehpuri on the main road of Chandni Chowk.
The relief camp witnessed the participation of a large number of local workers, office-bearers, and social activists from the area. All Congress workers of the Chandni Chowk Assembly, along with social organizations and the trader community, were invited to contribute generously so that maximum relief materials could be collected and sent to the affected families.
On this occasion, Mr. Mudit Aggarwal said:
“The floods in Punjab have caused unprecedented damage to human lives and resources. This is not a time for politics, but a time for humanity. We must rise above caste, religion, and region to help one another. I appeal to the people and traders of Chandni Chowk to contribute wholeheartedly to this relief campaign, so that our brothers and sisters in Punjab can receive much-needed support in this hour of crisis.”
All the collected relief materials will be delivered directly to the flood-affected areas through the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. The relief items primarily include dry ration, drinking water, clothes, blankets, medicines, sanitary products, and other essential supplies.
The Chandni Chowk Congress family has also made it clear that this campaign will not be limited to just three days but will be extended further if required. Local residents and trade organizations have also assured their full cooperation by coming forward in large numbers.
The camp was jointly coordinated by Manoj Gupta (President, Chandni Chowk Block Congress), Mohammad Gulfam (President, Jama Masjid Block Congress Committee), former Municipal Councilor Pradeep Gupta, senior leader Rahul Dabla, senior social worker Ajay Jain (Lalu Bhai), youth leaders Gaurav Gupta and Ashok Sharma, along with several other dignitaries.
During the event, Block Congress President Manoj Gupta and other Congress workers present jointly conveyed the message that the disaster in Punjab should not be seen merely as Punjab’s problem, but as a collective challenge for the entire nation. “Let us all come together and extend our helping hands for our brothers and sisters in Punjab,” they emphasized.
