Kalimpong is a district in the Indian State of West Bengal, Headquartered in the city of Kalimpong, which is located in the Eastern Himalayas at an average elevation of about 1250 meters. The district was created on February 14, 2017, when it was separated from Darjeeling district. Kalimpong district of West Bengal has been earning a great name for football players and football lovers for some time now. The first and the biggest SAHID CUP FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2025 organized by United Veterans Club, Kalimpong, and in the history of Kalimpong district has reached its final stage. With the highest prize money of Rs. 8 lakh for the winner and Rs. 5 lakh for the losing team, this year’s SAHID CUP FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2025 will conclude successfully. 16 teams participated in this SAHID CUP FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2025 and in the end, U.K.F.C, Kurseong and Georgian Football Club, Kalimpong are going to play in the final.
For the first time in history, the final tournament is going to be held at night. The lighting work is done. And this is the first attempt of United Veterans Club, Kalimpong. We should consider it admirable. The game will start at 6pm onwards on September 21st. Before 6 pm, there will be an exhibition game between Sikkim Chief Minister 11 and Kalimpong MLA 11 and other cultural programs with popular artists.. This is also a golden opportunity for the people of Kalimpong to see at night in the light. A charming and beautiful Kalimpong will be seen on Sunday, September 21. United Veterans Club wants to show football to all the spectators by installing flickering lights at the Kalimpong Mela Ground and LCDs on the road near Dambar Chowk. The fairgrounds will look exciting with a crowd of over five thousand people, and all the spectators will be waiting.
