New Delhi : Crew Member Demands Stricter Action Against Pilot Accused of Exploitation and Threats In a deeply troubling case involving alleged abuse of power and emotional exploitation, a female cabin crew member has come forward with serious allegations against a senior pilot, Mohit Sharma Staff No. 06519, in Air India Express.The accused, who is currently in judicial custody, is set to seek bail on 8th August 2025, prompting the survivor to demand stricter legal action and protection.
According to the complaint, the pilot initiated a relationship with the crew member while both were married to other individuals. Over time, he allegedly manipulated her emotionally and physically, promising to leave his wife and marry her. Trusting his assurances, the woman filed for divorce from her husband and planned a future with the pilot.
However, she later discovered that the pilot had no intention of ending his marriage, and instead expressed his desire to continue relationships with both women. When she refused to accept this, the situation escalated into coercion and threats. The pilot allegedly used intimate photographs to blackmail her and demanded she meet him in hotel rooms at his convenience, subjecting her to ongoing psychological and sexual abuse.
The woman, showing immense courage, filed a police complaint. The pilot was subsequently arrested, but is scheduled to appear for bail proceedings on 8th August.
The survivor is seeking stricter action against the pilot from the law and a disciplinary action from Air India Express, urging the airline to take immediate steps to suspend the accused and ensure no other female employee faces similar abuse within the organization.
The case highlights a disturbing pattern of power imbalance and calls for strong institutional safeguards in the aviation sector to protect employees from internal harassment.
