Ahead of the festive season, Amazon collaborates with HPCL to launch 40 new Ashray Centers

– All delivery partners, not just those delivering for Amazon, can visit and use facilities available at Ashray centers free of cost
– Amazon now has 65 Ashray centers in 13 cities and is moving closer to its goal of setting up 100 Ashray centers by end of 2025

NEW DELHI: Amazon India today announced the expansion of Project Ashray through a collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to launch 40 new Ashray centers nationwide. Shri Yogender Chandolia, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Delhi’s North West Constituency, inaugurated the newest facility in the city’s Rohini area. The inauguration was attended by Shri Muralikrishna V Vadrevu, Executive Director, Non-Fuel Business, HPCL; Salim Memon, Director, Amazon Operations, India; and Ashleigh de la Torre, VP of Amazon U.S. Transportation, Sustainability, and Kuiper Public Policy. With this addition, Amazon now has 65 Ashray centers across 13 cities, moving closer to its goal of establishing 100 such centers by the end of 2025. In Delhi NCR, Amazon now operates 24 Ashray Centers in all.

Ashray Centers are dedicated rest stops that offer air-conditioned seating, clean drinking water, mobile charging points, washrooms, first-aid kits and more. All delivery partners in India ecommerce network can visit and use facilities available at Ashray centers free of cost. Amazon is getting ready for the festive season
Last week, Amazon announced that it is creating more than 150,000 seasonal work opportunities across its operations network of fulfilment centres, sort centres and last mile delivery network, as it gears up to serve millions of customers during the upcoming festive season. These opportunities include direct and indirect work opportunities in 400+ cities across India including cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Cochin, Coimbatore, Indore, Raipur, Jalandhar, Jodhpur, Ranchi, Anantnag, Jalgaon among others. Notably, Amazon has created opportunities for thousands of women associates as well as over 2000 PWD ((differently abled)) into its network. Amazon India has already onboarded a majority of these new associates.
