By the age of nine, he had already won awards at the National Wushu Championships. Two years later, he claimed his first national championship, beginning an extraordinary sporting career.

In 1974, Jet Li joined a world tour showcasing Chinese martial arts and famously performed on the White House lawn before U.S. President Richard Nixon.

Despite suffering injuries during competitions, Li continued to dominate the sport and held the prestigious title of China’s All-Around National Wushu Champion from 1974 to 1979.
