Kalimpong WB: Sahara Trust celebrated its fourth foundation day at the GDNS Hall in Kalimpong city in West Bengal with various social and cultural programs. There was active participation of doctors from the Volunteer Blood Donor Forum and Kalimpong District Blood Bank. More than 150 people from different areas participated in the camp. The trust celebrated the foundation day in two phases, keeping social services as well as health service delivery at the center.
In the first phase of the program, the Trust organized a blood donation camp, in which more than 100 units of blood were donated from Kalimpong District. At the initiative of the Trust, donors who have been donating blood for the past four years were presented with appreciation letters. Through this work, the Trust is playing a major role in health care in the society.
The main purpose of Sahara Trust’s blood donation is to save lives in emergency situations. For example, in case of bleeding due to accidents or other reasons or after surgery, blood may be needed, for which blood donation is essential. Another thing is to help the sick. For example, people with blood-borne diseases or other health problems need blood for treatment. And also is the social responsibility. For example, by donating blood, a person contributes to the society and helps save the lives of others. Similarly, the second phase of the program began in the afternoon, in which Manindra Bhujel, former principal of BT College, was present as the chief guest. There was a notable presence of various organizations and regional personalities of Kalimpong. Trust Secretary Sukmit Lepcha gave the welcome speech, while Sampada Thapa and Prakriti Ojha performed the welcome dance.
