Russian Dance Ensemble Enthralls Audience at IPEC with Vibrant Cultural Performance

IPEC witnessed a vibrant celebration of international cultural exchange as a renowned Russian Dance Ensemble presented a captivating choreographic performance on campus. The event formed part of IPEC’s ongoing efforts to promote global cultural understanding through academic and artistic collaborations.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Vibhuti Shankar, Vice President International Relations of IPEC in his welcome note recalled IPEC’s recent initiatives in hosting important international events, including an earlier visit by a Russian delegation that coincided with the visit of the Hon’ble President of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin. Building on this legacy, Mr. Vibhuti welcomed the Russian Dance Troupe, from Stavropol territory marking another significant milestone in its international cultural engagements.
On this occasion Shri. Puneet Aggarwal Vice Chairman IPEC stated that “we encourage soft power diplomacy between the two countries and this cultural event has remarkable impression in the minds of youth which will help in building fruitful ties ahead in socio-technical collaborations.”
The visiting ensemble, comprising young women performers, who showcased a rich repertoire of traditional folk dances reflecting the unique lifestyle, heritage, and traditions of the Terek Cossacks. Their performance stood out for its energetic movements, synchronised choreography, colourful costumes, and authentic musical expressions that transported the audience to the cultural heart of Russia.
Ms. Elena Barman from Russian Cultural Centre said that the ensemble has an impressive history of participation in several national and international competitions and cultural festivals held across major cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg. Their performance at IPEC marked their participation in cultural celebrations in India, further strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
The troupe was led by its Artistic Director, Ms. Elena Kuropatkina, whose creative vision and commitment to preserving Russian folk traditions were evident throughout the performance. The dancers received enthusiastic applause from students, faculty members, and guests present at the event.
Adding to the spirit of cultural harmony, the programme also featured intermittent presentations of Indian classical and folk dance forms, highlighting India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. The exchange symbolised mutual respect and appreciation between Indian and Russian traditions.
The event concluded on a high note, with the audience expressing admiration for the performers and appreciation for IPEC’s initiative in creating a platform for cross-cultural dialogue. Such programmes, organisers noted, play a vital role in broadening students’ global perspectives and fostering cultural sensitivity among young learners.
The cultural evening was not only an artistic showcase but also a reaffirmation of the enduring friendship and cultural ties between India and Russia.
On the occasion were present Director of IPEC Dr. Anil Solanki, Dean Sh. Amit Jain, Sunita Yadav and they wished well for Indo Russian relations.
