Poetic Evening Drenched in the Devotion of the Guru

Ghaziabad – On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, a grand Kavi Sammelan (Poetic Evening) was organized on Sunday, 13 July 2025, under the aegis of the Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, Ghaziabad, at Amitr Theatre, Patel Nagar-2, Ghaziabad. The event showcased vibrant poetic expressions through poems, ghazals, dohas, maahiyas, couplets, and songs, centered around themes such as guru tradition, love, patriotism, social reform, spirituality, devotion, technology, and the greatness of parents.

The event was presided over by the renowned poet Bebaak Barabankavi, while other dignitaries on the dais included B.L. Batra ‘Amitr’ (President of the organization), Dr. Alka Agrawal (Patron), Ajit Srivastava, and Dr. Kamlesh Sanjeeda (Secretary).

The evening commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a soul-soothing Saraswati Vandana sung by Vandana Kunwar Raizada, who captivated the audience with her melodious voice. Afterward, B.L. Batra ‘Amitr’ extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries and poets, and ensured the dignified seating and honor of the guests on stage.

Stage compering was elegantly handled by Dr. Nivedita Sharma, whose poetic and graceful anchoring added charm to the evening. One after another, the poets and poetesses mesmerized the audience with their literary presentations.

Among the distinguished poets and literary figures who recited their compositions were:
Sangeeta Ahlawat, Shobha Sachan, Vandana Kunwar Raizada, Dr. Rajesh Srivastava, Dr. Usha Srivastava, Mamta Singh Rathore, Dr. Sarita Garg ‘Sari’, Jyoti Kiran Rathore, and Paro Chaudhary. Each of them contributed powerfully through unique poetic styles, enriching the literary aura of the evening.

A large audience attended the event and heartily appreciated the recitations, cheering the performers with thunderous applause and joyful engagement.

In the conclusion, Dr. Kamlesh Sanjeeda (Secretary, Parishad) delivered a warm vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all poets, guests, and attendees, along with a brief review of the program.

Thus, the poetic evening held on the pious occasion of Guru Purnima was not only a grand literary success but also a spiritually elevating experience, beautifully reflecting the timeless essence of guru devotion, cultural values, and poetic heritage.
