In line with the visionary mission of “Viksit Bharat@2047” launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has taken a significant initiative to enrich and enliven the educational journey of its school students.

NDMC Vice Chairperson Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal informed that the Council has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the “National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA)”. This one-year partnership is aimed at all students of Navyug and NDMC schools, under which they will be provided with special educational tours, subject-based creative workshops, and guided learning experiences.

Shri Chahal stated that the partnership will facilitate both in-house and outreach activities across NDMC schools, specially designed to suit various age groups and learning levels.

He added, “This collaboration will provide our students with direct exposure to modern art, culture, heritage, and science. It will not only foster creativity but also help shape a balanced, thoughtful, and aware generation — one that aligns with the values of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’.”

*Key objectives of this partnership include:
• Promoting experiential learning through interactive activities
• Encouraging creativity and critical thinking in classrooms
• Enhancing cultural awareness and appreciation of India’s artistic and scientific heritage
• Building inclusive and engaging educational environments across all NDMC schools

*Proposed activities by NGMA
• Subject-based art workshops
• Curated gallery visits
• Educational sessions on art, heritage, and science
• Capacity-building programs for NDMC teachers

Shri Chahal also highlighted that the Council is implementing a vital educational initiative titled “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi” in its schools. Inspired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Panch Pran” and his call to take pride in India’s cultural heritage, this initiative aims to provide students not only with technical skills but also with values, identity, and a deeper connection to their roots.

This innovative model integrates elements like yoga, learning from nature, environmental awareness, the guru-shishya tradition, and Indian philosophy, enabling students to learn not just how to earn a livelihood, but also the art of living. The effort seeks to nurture sensitive, value-driven, and culturally conscious citizens.

Shri Chahal emphasized that this partnership reflects NDMC’s unwavering commitment to providing holistic, innovative, and value-based education to its students. It will lay a strong foundation to help them become confident, capable citizens who actively contribute to building a developed India.

He said that this initiative marks another milestone in NDMC’s journey to transform its education system — a step that will play a vital role in realizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of “Viksit Bharat@2047.”
