On the sacred occasion of Muharram, the Mehrauli Bus Stand transformed into a heartwarming scene of communal harmony, religious unity, and dedicated public service, as the Mehrauli Block Congress Committee organized a distribution of milk and Rooh Afza to honor the passing processions of tazi
This event stood not just as a symbol of religious devotion, but also as a powerful example of interfaith solidarity and social unity. People from various communities participated together, reinforcing the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
Active members of the Mehrauli Block Congress Committee—including Ramesh Kumar (Kallu Bhai), Gajendra Sharma, Manmohan Malik, Satish, Najma Chaudhary, Deepti Lal, Suresh, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Mustakeem, Neeraj Nagar, Ashutosh, Golu, Arjun, and others—came together to serve chilled milk and sherbet to the devotees and participants accompanying the tazias.
The event unfolded in a peaceful and emotional atmosphere, with open-hearted expressions of respect towards the tazias and a strong demonstration of secular values.
While Muharram is a time of remembrance and mourning for sacrifice, this act of service in Mehrauli conveyed a powerful message—that the true identity of India lies in its Ganga-Jamuni culture and in fostering communal harmony.
