It is unfortunate that during the tenure of BJP’s Rekha government, hoardings of other parties are forcibly removed from Kavad camps by the police and SDMs.–Devender Yadav

NEW DELHI : Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav lashed out at the Rekha Gupta Government of BJP and said that during the BJP rule, if any social organization is putting up hoardings with photos of leaders of other political parties, then they are being forcibly removed by the police and SDMs which is unfortunate. He said that such low-level politics should not be played in a holy event like Kavad yatra as Kavad camps are set up to serve the devotees.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the Rekha Gupta government of BJP did not make timely arrangements for the Kanwariyas this year and also put a cap on the amount given to the camps, whereas during the Sheila Dikshit Government of Congress, the entire expenditure of tents, chairs, tables and other facilities in the Kavad camps were borne by the government.

Shri Devender Yadav inaugurated a camp for Kavad pilgrims at the Karnal Bypass, Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, in his Badli Assembly constituency today, by lighting a lamp. This camp was set up for the devotees of Lord Shiva by the Jan Sewa Sangathan, Samaipur Badli, to serve the Kanwariyas passing through the area, which the social service organization has been doing every year.

Shri Devender Yadav reached the Kavad camp and offered prayers and also took stock of the facilities provided to the Kanwariyas by the Jan Seva Sangathan. In the Kavad camp set up in the the spirit of service, along with the provisions for medicine, arrangements have also been made to serve bhandara three times to the Kavad pilgrims.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Congress believes in the principle of ‘Sarvadharam Sambhav’ and propagation of goodwill and social harmony among every religious faith. Shri Yadav appealed to lakhs of Kanwariyas to follow discipline and traffic rules while fetching Gangajal without violating the advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police for the entire route of Delhi-NCR region.

Shri Devender Yadav said that in the Kavad camp, the problems faced by the pilgrims are taken care of in every way, which include providing necessary medicines and proper arrangements for their food and rest round the clock. He said that Kavad camps have been setup across Delhi for the benefit of lakhs of devotees.
