After long-standing efforts and tireless dedication, journalists of South Delhi have finally established a strong platform – the South Delhi Journalists Association. This organization has been formed with the active participation of journalists and editors associated with print, electronic, freelance, YouTube, and weekly newspapers.
In the third meeting held at Vishwakarma Colony, Pul Prahladpur, more than 50 journalists were present, and the executive committee was formed through consensus and a democratic process. The tenure of all office bearers has been fixed for three years. This is a historic step in the journalism of South Delhi, which will prove to be a milestone for safeguarding journalists’ interests and dignity.
Election Process and Formation of the Executive Committee
For the executive committee of the South Delhi Journalists Association, a transparent election process was adopted. Journalists presented their candidacies, and the executive body was selected through voting.
President: Senior journalist and former editor of Sahara News and Zee News, Rajnarayan Mishra, was unanimously elected president. His long experience and leadership are expected to give new strength and direction to the organization.
Senior Vice Presidents: Momna Begum, Sunil Parihar, and Ashu Aas Muhammad (Hunkar News).
Vice Presidents: Fact India News senior correspondent Reyasat Ali Sameer, V News chief editor Deepak Kumar, and Girish Kumar.
General Secretary: Senior journalist Ajit Kumar, who has long-standing experience in South Delhi journalism.
Media Coordinator & Spokesperson: Deep Silodi, a prominent face of South Delhi journalism.
Secretary: Young journalist Swatantra Singh Bhullar.
Joint Secretaries: Beena Devi Joshi and Ramesh Bhai.
Treasurer: Sharad Kumar Sagar.
Organizing Secretary: Sahil Sambhav Mansoori.
Publicity Secretary: Kundan Singh.
Organizing Convenor: Mahendra Kumar.
Cultural & Sports Secretary: Jitendra Diwakar.
Executive members include Shugufta Parveen, Manoj Singh, Shamsuddin Siddiqui, Ajit Singh Bhushan, Manoj Kumar, and Deepak Singh. All office bearers will serve their respective responsibilities for a three-year term.
Chief Guest’s Support and Felicitation Ceremony
On this occasion, Surendra Bidhuri, convenor of Swabhiman Desh Ka Sangathan and representative of the South Delhi MP, attended as the chief guest. Along with social activist Mukesh Sharma and other dignitaries, he welcomed the newly elected president Rajnarayan Mishra and the executive committee with bouquets and shawls.
Bidhuri praised this initiative of journalists and assured full support in safeguarding their interests.
Ideology and Objectives of the Organization
The South Delhi Journalists Association has been formed with the aim of protecting journalists’ rights, securing their dignity, and standing with them in times of need. The organization’s goal is to unite journalists into a powerful collective that not only raises their voice but also stands with their families in every situation.
Newly elected president Rajnarayan Mishra said:
> “Our first priority is to strengthen the organization and bind journalists in the thread of unity. I assure every journalist that my life will remain dedicated to their welfare.”
General Secretary Ajit Kumar stated:
> “Journalists have entrusted me with a great responsibility, which I will fulfill with complete dedication and honesty. I will work with the executive body to advance the ideology of the organization.”
Media Coordinator Deep Silodi emphasized:
> “The organization will always stand by journalists in the fight for their dignity and rights. At the same time, it will ensure that all journalists uphold the principles of journalism.”
A Historic Step and Future Hopes
The formation of the South Delhi Journalists Association marks a new beginning for journalists of the region. By bringing together journalists from South, South-East, and South-West Delhi on a single platform, the organization has demonstrated unity. It will not only protect journalists’ interests but will also play a key role in maintaining high standards of journalism.
Newly elected president Rajnarayan Mishra expressed gratitude to all journalists and supporters, saying:
“The strength of the organization lies in unity. Together, we have realized this mantra.” Undoubtedly, this organization will emerge as a model for journalists in the future and provide new direction to journalism in South Delhi.
