Dr. K.A. Paul alleges Russian aid to Pakistan, urges U.S. sanctions on Moscow

In a powerful press conference held at A.P. Bhavan, Delhi, global peace activist Dr. K.A. Paul addressed pressing international and national issues following his high-level meetings in Washington D.C. and New York with senior U.S. Senators, both Republicans and Democrats , and other world leaders.
Dr. Paul urged bipartisan U.S. support for stronger sanctions against Russia, citing Moscow’s continued military support to Pakistan and its role in destabilizing peace in South Asia. “Russia is backstabbing us by funding Pakistan while terrorist attacks target India,” Dr. Paul said. He got 100% of Democrats and 80% of Republicans in the U.S. are in favor of introducing stricter sanctions by the end of this month.

In a significant development, Dr. Paul announced plans to host the world’s largest Global Peace Summit in New York later this year, with final dates to be confirmed by the end of the week. The summit aims to address ongoing conflicts involving Ukraine, the Middle East especially Gaza .
Allegations of Political Corruption in Telangana
On domestic issues, Dr. Paul drew attention to a viral video featuring Telangana Congress MLA Mandula Samuel, which he said exposes a “culture of bribery” among MLAs in the state. He further alleged that Telangana Chief Minister Ravindra Reddy, a Congress appointee, maintains ideological ties with the BJP. Dr. Paul stated that a potential political shift is underway, with Reddy reportedly preparing to break away from Congress with 25–30 MLAs to form a new government — echoing past political realignments in states like Maharashtra.
Appeal to Judiciary to Uphold Democratic Norms
Expressing concern over inaction by the Election Commission and delays in disqualifying defecting MLAs, Dr. Paul appealed directly to India’s judiciary. “To save Indian democracy and our Constitution, courageous action is required from the judiciary,” he said, urging all judges to uphold constitutional values.
The press conference concluded with a call for immediate national and international efforts to defend democratic institutions, promote transparency in politics, and work towards peace across regions.
