CRACKDOWN ON DRUG TRADE: INTERSTATE DRUG PEDDLERS NABBED BY CRIME BRANCH

New Delhi : Crime Branch has successfully executed another significant operation as part of its “Zero Tolerance” policy on drug trafficking, aligning with the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”. In a recent strategic operation led by the Northern Range-I (NR-1) of the Crime Branch, two individuals involved in the distribution of marijuana (Ganja) in Delhi and NCR were apprehended and a substantial 365.030 kilograms of marijuana, hidden within a specially crafted cavity in a truck (registration number HR 69B 7295) was seized. A case has been registered vide case FIR 113/2025,under Sections 20/25/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at PS Crime Branch.
INFORMATION TEAM & OPERATION: –
The current operation was the culmination of two months of sustained intelligence gathering led by SI Narender Singh and ASI Sandeep Singh. Initial inputs were received by ASI Sandeep through human intelligence
sources, which were subsequently corroborated and enhanced through technical surveillance and analytics by SI Narender Singh with the assistance of HC Dinesh.
SI Narender meticulously tracked the suspected vehicle’s movements from Brahampur, Odisha to Delhi, utilizing a combination of toll plaza CCTV data analysisand surveillance of key mobile numbers associated with the accused. Each halt, deviation, and timing of the vehicle’s journey was monitored in real-time, providing a precise operational window.
Based on this consolidated intelligence, it was established that a major narcotic consignment (Ganja) was en-route to the Delhi/NCR region in a concealed cavity of a truck.
Based on specific information and technical surveillance, on 09.05.2025, a raiding party led by Inspector Sanjay Kaushik, consisting of SI Narender Singh, ASI Sandeep, ASI Virender, ASI Ramesh Rana, HC Dinesh, HC Sanjeev, HC Dhara Singh, Ct Vivek and Ct Annu was formed under the supervision of ACP Ashok Kumar Sharma, NR-1, and the overall supervision of Sh. Harsh Indora, IPS, DCP/Crime-III.
The targeted vehicle, a truck with registration HR 69B 7295, was intercepted, and two individuals were apprehended. The apprehended individuals have been identified as:
Deepak, son of Shri Chand, resident of Village Naya Bas, Police Station Gannaur, District Sonipat, Haryana; Age: 36 years.
Sunil @ Kala, son of Jai Karan, resident of Village & Post Office Pinana, Police Station Mohana, District Sonipat, Haryana; Age: 25 years.
Upon inspection, a total of 365.030 kilograms of Ganja was recovered from a concealed cavity specially fabricated within the vehicle. In connection with this recovery, a case has been registered vide FIR No. 113/2025, dated 09.05.2025, u/s 20/25/29 NDPS Act, at Police Station Crime Branch, Delhi and both accused have been arrested in the case. The recovered Ganja was
being transported from Brahampur, Odhisa to Delhi NCR. They admitted that they were on-site to supply the contraband to an associate. The investigation remains ongoing to identify additional network members and trace the distribution routes used in this syndicate.
RECOVERY: –

PROFILE OFACCUSED PERSON: –
Deepak @ Deepu, Age-36 yrs resident of Village Naya Bas, Police Station Gannaur, District Sonipat, Haryana. He was born and raised in his native village and studied up to the 8th grade and lives on rent with his wife Neeraj and 15-year-old son Rahul in Sonipat, HR. He has been driving heavy vehicles for the past 8–10 years. About 5–6 months ago, his known associate Binder, who worked as a driver for Sanjeev Rana, helped him get a driving job with Rana. On April 26–27, 2025, Sanjeev Rana sent Deepak and Sunil Malik (his relative) with Eicher Container No. HR69B7295 under the pretext of delivering chips from Noida to Kolkata. After unloading there, as per instructions, they proceeded to Brahmapur, Odhisa, where Ganjawas secretly loaded at night. Following this, they loaded paper rolls in Jamshedpur and travelled via Bihar, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly, and Moradabad. Eventually, they were instructed to wait near Kali Mata Mandir Road, Rohini, Delhi, where they were caught by police with the vehicle and the Marijuana (Ganja).
Sunil Malik @ Kala age-25 yrs resident of Village & Post Office Pinana, Police Station Mohana, District Sonipat, Haryana. He is studied up to 12th grade and has three younger brothers and two elder sisters. His relative Sanjeev Rana and his associate Sunil @ Galluhad developed some acquaintance with him and got registered a truck bearing number HR69B
7295 in his name. On April 26–27, 2025, Sanjeev Rana sent Sunil Malik and driver Deepak with Eicher Container No. HR69B7295 under the pretext of delivering chips from Noida to Kolkata. After unloading there, as per instructions, they proceeded to Brahmapur, Odhisa, where Ganjawas secretly loaded in the hidden cavity made in the truck behind driver cabin on the direction of Sanjeev Rana. Following this, they loaded paper rolls in truck container from Jamshedpur and travelled via Bihar, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad and reached Chandausi where they unloaded the paper rolls from truck and reached Delhi. Eventually, they were instructed to wait near Kali Mata Mandir Road, Rohini, Delhi, where they were caught by police with the vehicle and the Marijuana (Ganja).
The interrogation of the arrested suppliers is ongoing to uncover the identities of their remaining associates and map out the structure of the entire syndicate.

The Delhi Police remains steadfast in its mission to eliminate the menace of drug trafficking from the national capital. This seizure is a testament to the dedication and vigilance of our personnel, and we will continue to take strict action against those involved in the illegal drug trade. We urge citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activity, as public cooperation is vital in ensuring a drug-free Delhi.
