Organised on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Irfan Ali, in his speech, touched the hearts of the people. He said that Sardar Patel had united 562 princely states and bound India into one thread, and today it is the responsibility of every citizen to strengthen that unity rather than divide it through narrow-mindedness. His address generated such a wave of patriotism that the entire auditorium echoed with applause.

However, the most touching and inspiring moment of the ceremony came when Irfan Ali took charge of the stage and reminded all dignitaries, scholars, artists, and especially the youth, of their duties towards the nation. Without using complex political terminology, he spoke in the language of the common people, saying,

“To become a good citizen, we do not need grand speeches, but small and sincere actions.”
He then formally administered the oath to the large gathering. This oath was not merely a ritual, but became a guiding principle of life. He urged everyone to pledge to conserve water and electricity, treat compliance with traffic rules as a matter of personal dignity, consider cleanliness as their duty, and promote a spirit of mutual cooperation in society. Addressing the youth in particular, he emphasized that respect for parents and teachers is the true mark of education. His powerful address and the oath-taking ceremony remained at the center of the event, transforming a cultural and social programme into a national movement.
