Central Bank of India’s 115th Foundation Day Celebrated with Grandeur at Delhi Zone
New Delhi: Central Bank of India, one of the leading public sector banks of the country, celebrated its 115th Foundation Day at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, in a highly dignified and enthusiastic atmosphere. The function was presided over by the Zonal Head, Shri Shishram Tundwal. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Ms. Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, and the Distinguished Guest, Shri Umesh Kumar Singh, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Sarsai.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the offering of tributes to the founder of the Bank. While addressing the gathering, the speakers highlighted the glorious 115-year journey of Central Bank of India, its significant role in nation building, and its contribution towards empowering the general public, farmers, MSMEs and the underprivileged sections of society.

In his address, the Zonal Head, Shri Shishram Tundwal, stated that Central Bank of India continues to move forward with the core values of trust, transparency and service. He appreciated the dedication and team spirit of the employees and emphasized that the Bank is well prepared to face future challenges by prioritizing digital banking, cyber security, financial inclusion and customer satisfaction.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Nidhi Khare, appreciated the Bank’s innovations, consumer-friendly initiatives, financial inclusion and financial literacy campaigns, as well as its role in inclusive growth through various government schemes. She stated that public sector banks are the backbone of India’s growing economy, and Central Bank of India is playing a significant role in this direction.
The Distinguished Guest, Shri Umesh Kumar Singh, while reminiscing about his own banking journey, urged everyone to strive for providing even better customer service.
On this occasion, the Bank’s esteemed customers and officers and employees who delivered outstanding performance were felicitated. Approximately 700 employees, along with all senior officials, participated in the event. Cultural programmes were also presented by staff members. Additionally, children of the staff showcased fancy dress performances and dance presentations, which further added to the charm of the programme.
All participants contributed enthusiastically to make the event a grand success. The समारोह concluded with a collective resolve towards the Bank’s bright future and continued service to the nation. The vote of thanks was proposed by Shri P. C. Khurana, Deputy General Manager.
