Celebrate an Eco-Friendly Diwali with Green Crackers: BJP Leader Veer Singh Pawar’s Appeal for a Pollution-Free Festival
New Delhi, Dilshad Garden —
After the Supreme Court permitted the limited use of green crackers, a wave of relief and joy has spread across the nation. On this occasion, Veer Singh Pawar, senior BJP leader and Municipal Councillor from Dilshad Garden Ward, expressed his gratitude towards the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Delhi’s popular Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for promoting a balance between tradition and environmental health.
In his message to the public, Pawar emphasized that Diwali is not only a festival of lights but also of responsibility.
“Diwali is one of the most sacred and joyous festivals in Sanatan Dharma. While celebrating, it is our duty to protect both our health and the environment,” he said. “The Supreme Court’s decision to allow green crackers reflects a thoughtful balance between our cultural traditions and the need for clean air. I wholeheartedly support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Swachh Bharat’ and ‘Swasth Bharat’, as well as Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s mission of ‘Green Delhi, Clean Delhi’.”
Pawar appealed to citizens to celebrate the festival with eco-friendly green crackers, keep children safe from pollution, and focus on love, harmony, and health.
“The true essence of Diwali lies not just in lighting lamps, but in illuminating minds and society,” he remarked. “Let us ensure our celebrations today do not become a burden for future generations. A pollution-free Diwali is the best gift we can give our children.”
Health Experts Warn Against Rising Pollution Levels
According to health experts, during Diwali, PM2.5 and PM10 levels spike several times above safe limits, triggering respiratory, cardiac, and lung-related diseases.
Doctors have particularly advised children, elderly citizens, and pregnant women to avoid exposure to smoke and harmful fumes.
Authorities recommend limited cracker use, greater emphasis on traditional diyas (earthen lamps), and natural decorations to maintain a clean and healthy atmosphere.
A Message of Responsibility and Hope
Veer Singh Pawar urged every citizen to celebrate Diwali with environmental consciousness and support the Prime Minister’s “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s health-focused governance.
“Let’s light green crackers, protect our blue skies, and gift our children a healthy India. That’s the true spirit of Diwali,” Pawar concluded.
