The MCD by-election in Chandni Mahal ward has reached its decisive phase, and the visible enthusiasm among BJP’s Muslim workers has now transcended a mere political campaign and is turning into a broader social message. From mosques to markets and from homes to courtyards—every front sees active BJP-supporting Muslim workers, and this activity is also a sign of their confidence.
Former National Vice-President of the Minority Morcha and former member of the Haj Committee of India, Irfan Ahmad, says that when the BJP was in power in the MCD, remarkable improvements were seen in basic amenities—cleanliness, drain construction, and street lights—not only in Chandni Mahal but in other wards as well. According to him, “AAP’s politics has remained limited to promises and advertisements only, whereas the BJP has delivered work on the ground.”
BJP workers claim that the central government has taken several important steps for the Muslim community, with special focus on education, health, and transparency-based systems. Riding on this trust, the workers are going door-to-door conveying the message that only the BJP can provide development and reliable governance.
Describing the BJP candidate for the ward, Sunil Kumar Sharma, as an honest and grassroots-level leader, supporters are calling this election a fight of “development versus promises.” The activism of BJP workers is clearly visible both on social media and on the ground.
In the current political atmosphere of Chandni Mahal, one can feel not just electoral slogans but the stirrings of a new hope. The upcoming polling day will decide whether the people vote on emotions or on development.
