With the aim of weaving the threads of integrity, national unity, and cultural diversity into one strong fabric, the organization “Bharat Bharti” has launched a nationwide campaign on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, embodying the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India).

The historic campaign commenced from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, under the leadership of National Organizing Secretary Shri Jagannath Kunjbihari Swain and Northern India In-Charge Mohammad Irfan Ahmad. The seven-day outreach journey aims to commemorate Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in uniting 562 princely states and to strengthen the spirit of national integrity inspired by his unmatched patriotism.

Mohammad Irfan Ahmad stated that the concept of this special campaign was first presented earlier this year during the All India Convention held at the Statue of Unity, Kevadia (Gujarat). It was resolved that 150 universities, major educational institutions (including IITs and IIMs), and 150 major cities across the country would host national unity programs under the aegis of Bharat Bharti. The objective is to reflect India’s linguistic, cultural, and religious diversity in educational campuses, making each university a symbol of a “Mini India.”

During the Srinagar visit, detailed discussions were held with Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Professor Dr. Nazir Ganai, regarding the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” program. He welcomed the initiative and agreed to organize a grand event on October 31. Similarly, Vice-Chancellor of Kashmir University Professor Neelofar Khan, along with the Registrar and Dean of Student Welfare, also consented to hold the event in March 2026.

The team also met the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, and apprised him of the objectives and outcomes of the unity campaign. The Lt. Governor assured his full support and expressed his willingness to participate in the upcoming events. The Kashmir team included Advocate Ms. Sibgat Khan, IFS Officer Irfan Ali Shah, Mrs. Roza Shah, and Dr. Fayyaz Bhatt.

During the Jammu leg of the visit, the team led by Jammu Coordinator Pawan Vivek, Cultural Coordinator R.C. Sharma, Kulbhushan Malhotra, Opendra Sharma, Dinesh Raina, Sunil Rajput, and Mrs. Neha Rajput met heads of several leading educational institutions. Discussions were held with Dr. Manoj Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu; Shri Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra; and the Vice-Chancellors of Central University and Cluster University, along with Dean and Controller of Examinations, Ranvijay Singh.

Later, a special meeting was held at the BJP Headquarters in Jammu with Party President Shri Sat Sharma, General Secretary (Organization) Shri Ashok Kaul, and Vice-President Rajiv Charak, where the organization received assurances of political and administrative support for the success of the campaign.

At the conclusion of the visit, a Core Committee Preparatory Meeting and Press Conference were organized at the Bharat Bharti office, attended by senior citizens, social and cultural personalities, and educationists.

National Organizing Secretary Shri Jagannath Swain stated that “Bharat Bharti” is not merely a program but a living symbol of unity in diversity and the indomitable national spirit. It mirrors the country’s rich cultural heritage, coexistence, and communal harmony.

Mohammad Irfan Ahmad said that Sardar Patel’s movement for unity is deeply rooted in the soul of India. Inspired by his vision, this campaign will serve as a milestone in building a self-reliant, united, and harmonious nation.

The organization has also decided to extend this campaign across Jammu and Kashmir and other states of India, with the purpose of strengthening the spirit of national unity, cultural pride, and patriotism among the youth of the country.
