JSW Steel and Amravati Police Conduct Raids to Curb Counterfeit Colour-Coated Products; Over 50 Fake JSW Sheets Seized

Nagpur : In another decisive action against counterfeiters, JSW Steel Limited has successfully unearthed and disrupted a counterfeit operation involving misuse of its intellectual property in Amravati, Maharashtra. Following multiple complaints received about the illegal use of the JSW brand identity, the company’s brand protection team, in coordination with the Amravati City Police, conducted raids at two sites—Rolex Roofings and GT Devariya—both operating under the jurisdiction of the Amravati City Police Station.
The operations, conducted on 9th October 2025 and 12th October 2025, led to the seizure of more than 50 colour-coated sheets fraudulently marked with JSW identifiers. FIRs bearing numbers 0359/2025 and 0861/2025 have been filed under Sections 51 and 63 of the Copyright Act, reinforcing JSW Steel’s commitment to pursuing strict legal action against entities involved in such deceptive activities.
Commenting on the development, a JSW Steel spokesperson said:
“JSW Steel has zero tolerance for any infringement of its intellectual property or misuse of its brand identity. Counterfeit products not only deceive customers but also compromise quality and safety standards. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement agencies to safeguard the trust and confidence that the JSW brand stands for.”
This coordinated enforcement follows a series of similar actions taken by JSW Steel across different regions, including a recent raid in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, where counterfeit JSW SILVER products were seized. These sustained efforts reflect the company’s proactive approach in protecting consumers, dealers, and distributors from substandard and fraudulent goods being sold under the JSW name.
