Vande Mataram Festival’s First Day: Audiences Emotionally Moved by Bhagat Singh’s Life Story

New Delhi : The city is abuzz with the sounds of literature, music, and dance as the ‘Vande Mataram’ festival, organized by Jashn-e-Adab Sahityotsav, continues to captivate audiences. The first day’s performances brought to life the spirit of patriotism and the rich cultural diversity of India, showcasing the country’s freedom struggle and cultural heritage in a new light. The grand event is taking place on August 23 and 24 at the India International Center, New Delhi.

The festival, which marks the 78th year of India’s independence and the 14th anniversary of Jashn-e-Adab, features a diverse range of performances, including classical music, ghazals, folk music, poetry recitations, dance, and theatrical performances.

Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan, founder of Jashn-e-Adab, said, “The purpose of Vande Mataram is not just entertainment, but to pass on the vibrancy of Indian culture, literature, and art to the next generation, which we take pride in. It’s heartening to see the audience fully embracing every performance.”

On the first day, Asmita Theatre Group, Master Adhiraj Chaudhary, Vidya Lal & Group, and Vidya Shah captivated the audience with their performances. Vidya Shah’s powerful renditions of “Mora Jiya”, “Pihu Rag”, and “More Panchayat Pe” left everyone spellbound. Meanwhile, Asmita Theatre Group’s theatrical performance on the life of Bhagat Singh, a son of Mother India, moved every audience member to tears.

In the literary sessions, renowned writers such as Farhat Ehsas, Mangal Naseem, Govind Gulshan, Sunil Panwar, Javed Mushiri, Azam Shakiri, Rehman Moosavi, Binod Sinha, Gulzar Wani, and Pawan Kumar shared their thoughts and works.

The second day of the festival, on August 24, will feature performances by Anis Sabri & Group, Padma Bhushan Pt. Sajan Mishra, Swaransh Mishra, Prof. Wasim Barelvi, Padma Shri Surendra Sharma, and Prof. Ashok Chakradhar, among others. The audience and literature enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to these performances.

The ‘Vande Mataram’ festival has already proven on its first day that it’s not just an event, but an experience that reconnects the audience with India’s rich traditions and the spirit of freedom.
