Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple, Kamal Vihar, Burari Celebrates Shri Krishna Janmashtami with Great Enthusiasm
Delhi : At Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple, Kamal Vihar, Burari, under the aegis of the Garhwal Unity and Cultural Development Committee, Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with deep devotion and great joy. Throughout the day, the temple echoed with chants of “Nand ke Anand Bhayo,” “Yashoda Nandan Ki Jai,” “Makhan Chor Ki Jai
By evening, a large number of devotees gathered at the temple. The beautifully decorated tableaux of Lord Krishna and devotional songs by kirtan groups created a divine and Krishna-filled atmosphere. The temple was adorned with colorful flowers and balloons. Devotees eagerly lined up to swing Lord Krishna on the jhoola (swing), with children also enthusiastically participating.
The celebrations featured cultural programs and Shri Krishna Leela presented by children from Anubhav Public School, Uttarakhand Enclave, Kamalpur, and Kamal Vihar Colony. Children dressed as little Krishnas became the center of attraction. Their performances not only captivated the audience but also reflected glimpses of Lord Krishna’s childhood pastimes. The Dahi Handi breaking competition added to the excitement, with children emerging as winners. At midnight, the birth ceremony of Lord Krishna was held, followed by aarti and distribution of prasad.
Several dignitaries graced the occasion, with the chief guest being a noted social worker, along with other special guests who were honored by the committee. Committee President Jagmohan Singh Bisht and General Secretary Ramesh Negi extended Janmashtami greetings to all present, including the dignitaries, social workers, special guests, and children who performed. They expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone for making the festival a grand success.
