Baghpat Witnesses Grand Inauguration of Renovated Multi-Purpose Sports Hall & Swimming Pool by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Jayant Chaudhary

Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh :In a significant step towards revitalizing grassroots sports infrastructure and promoting youth development through fitness and skill-building, the newly renovated Multi-Purpose Sports Hall and Swimming Pool at Baghpat was inaugurated today by Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Government of India, Shri Jayant Chaudhary Ji. The project has been implemented under the CSR initiative of HDFC Bank, executed by Plan India, in strategic partnership with the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Sector Skill Council (SPEFL-SC).
The inauguration ceremony began with the arrival of the Hon’ble Minister, followed by a warm floral welcome by the local administration and project implementation team. Shri Jayant Chaudhary Ji unveiled the commemorative plaque at the upgraded swimming pool, proceeded to cut the ceremonial ribbon, and undertook a guided walkthrough of the newly developed infrastructure. The Minister also inaugurated the newly developed multi-purpose indoor hall, designed to support sports such as basketball, kabaddi, wrestling, and badminton.
The event was graced by a distinguished set of dignitaries, including Shri Rajkumar Sangwan Ji, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Baghpat; Shri Yogesh Dhama Ji, Hon’ble MLA, Baghpat; Smt. Asmita Lal (IAS), District Magistrate; Sh. Pankaj Verma (PCS), Additional District Magistrate; Sh. Suraj Kumar Rai (IPS), Superintendent of Police; and Sh. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, Chief Development Officer, among other key district-level officials.
Representing the CSR donor HDFC Bank were Mrs. Anju Sud, Zonal Head; Ms. Arpana from HDFC Parivartan; and Mr. Sanjay Chaturvedi, HDFC Bank Baghpat. The implementing agency Plan India was represented by Mr. Mohammad Asif, Executive Director, and Mr. Rajesh Rana, while the strategic partner SPEFL-SC was represented by Mr. Tahsin Zahid, CEO; Ms. Gagandeep Oberoi; and Mr. Amit Khanna.
During his address, Hon’ble Minister Shri Jayant Chaudhary Ji lauded the collaborative effort between the government, private sector, and civil society, emphasizing that such public-private partnerships are vital to achieving the vision of a fit and skilled India. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to blending education, sports, and skilling to develop a generation of empowered youth ready to contribute to nation-building.
Addressing the gathering, District Magistrate Smt. Asmita Lal spoke about the significance of the facility for the youth of Baghpat and how it will act as a catalyst in nurturing talent and improving community well-being. Mr. Mohammad Asif from Plan India and the HDFC Parivartan team also shared their vision for sustaining such community development initiatives through inclusive planning and effective implementation.
