Customs Officer Attacked and Robbed in Ulwe, Three Accused Arrested

Ulwe Node (Navi Mumbai) – A shocking incident has come to light in Ulwe, where Customs Officer Vinay Jitendra Kumar was brutally attacked and robbed of valuables worth ₹1.15 lakh. The incident occurred on the night of May 31, while he was on his way home.
According to the information received, Sudhir Shetty, manager of SB Bar located in Vashi; auto-rickshaw driver Ranjeet Singh; and Kareemullah Maliwale, conspired together at the behest of two women from the bar (one of whom is reportedly Shetty’s girlfriend, Payal Som) to stop Vinay Kumar’s car in the middle of the road. They then assaulted him mercilessly using iron rods, bats, and wooden stumps.
After the attack, the accused robbed him of a 22-gram gold chain (worth ₹76,000), an iPhone worth ₹25,000, and a leather wallet containing his Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, debit cards, and other personal items. The total value of the stolen items amounts to approximately ₹1,15,000.
The injured officer, Vinay Kumar, is currently undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital. Based on his complaint, a case has been registered at the Ulwe Police Station.
The police have arrested Sudhir Shetty (36) and Kareemullah Maliwale (36), both residents of Ulwe, and Ranjeet Virendra Singh (26), a resident of Kopri Vashi. The case has been registered under Sections 324(1), 126(2), and 324(6) of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is underway, and the search for other suspects is ongoing.
