Unprecedented Decision by the Delhi Government for Patients

New Delhi: The Delhi Government has taken a historic step towards making the healthcare system more effective and patient-centric. Now, doctors in all government hospitals of Delhi will be able to devote more time to patients, as tasks related to procurement and supply chain management within hospitals have been eliminated.
This decision has been made with the aim of allowing doctors and medical staff to focus their time and energy on patient care, rather than on administrative procedures. As a result, patients will receive better and more dedicated healthcare services.
The initiative is rooted in a vision that was given form by the then BJP government in 1994, when the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) was established in Delhi. The primary objective of this agency was to ensure a uniform, quality-based, and transparent procurement process for all government hospitals.
Now, under this reform, the entire responsibility for procurement in Delhi’s government hospitals has been handed over to the Central Procurement Agency. This will not only save time but also allow for a more efficient and transparent use of resources.
A spokesperson for the Delhi Government stated, “This decision has been made in the interest of patients. Doctors will now be able to spend more time with patients, leading to a remarkable improvement in the quality of treatment.”
This change is being seen as a fresh start in the direction of healthcare services in Delhi, which, in the coming years, will ensure the availability of high-quality services to patients.
