Dr. K.A. Paul Calls for end to global arms trade and war efforts during visit to Turkey

Istanbul, Turkey:
Global peace advocate Dr. K.A. Paul has urged the international community to immediately halt the sale of military equipment and the wars they continue to fuel. Speaking from Istanbul following meetings with key leaders, Dr. Paul emphasized the urgent need for responsible leadership in a world torn by conflict, poverty, and rising militarization.
His visit to Turkey comes at a time when tensions remain high across regions, including South Asia and the Middle East. Dr. Paul highlighted the contradiction of global powers supplying weapons to both sides of active conflicts while speaking publicly about peace. He raised particular concern about the massive scale of arms being sold to countries like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and India.
Dr. Paul stated that while he has met several top leaders in recent weeks—both in the U.S. and Turkey—details and photographs will be released only when appropriate, as the focus remains on behind-the-scenes diplomacy to prevent escalation.
He further stressed that trillions spent on warfare could instead be used to address hunger, education, and health. Wars, he said, are not only destroying lives but also damaging the future of entire generations.
Dr. Paul’s peace mission continues, with plans to engage leaders in other conflict-affected regions.
