7 Major Religious Leaders Join Dr. K.A. Paul in Delhi to Call on Global Powers to Avert World War III

New Delhi: At a Religious Summit and press conference held at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club, seven religious leaders from India’s diverse faith traditions stood alongside global peace ambassador Dr. K.A. Paul to make a collective and urgent appeal to halt the growing wave of wars spreading across continents. The leaders directly addressed global heads of state, including U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Iranian leadership, urging them to prioritise peace over power.
Dr. K.A. Paul, who has worked with world leaders for over four decades on conflict resolution, said the present moment is more critical than anything he has witnessed. “I’ve travelled to 155 countries and met with presidents, prime ministers, and lawmakers. But I have never seen a moment as dangerous as this. The world is on the verge of collapse,” he said. “President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, Iranian leaders—pick up the phone. You have the power to stop this. Stop it now.”
Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac Malekar, representing India’s Jewish community, emphasised the need to learn from India’s legacy of pluralism. “India is the only country in the world where Jews have never faced anti-Semitism. That is why I say: I am Indian first, and a Jew second,” he said. Quoting the Prophet Isaiah, Rabbi Malekar added: “They shall beat their swords into ploughshares. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation. We must let peace grow, in depth, in geography, and in spirit.” He said I travelled with Dr Psul to Sudan and shocked to see he addressed the parliament of Sudan in 2011.
Acharya Lokesh Muni, a senior Jain monk, appealed directly to the heads of governments. “Why wait until after the bloodshed to talk peace? Why not sit at the table before war begins?” he said. “We urge President Trump , Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Iranian leadership, and our own Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take initiative before it’s too late. Protecting humanity must come before politics.” Thanks to Dr Paul for hosting this Summit .
Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, a Tibetan Buddhist leader, former speaker of the parliament condemned the failure of global institutions to act. “Where is the United Nations? Where is the Security Council? What is the use of these bodies if they remain silent?” he asked. Drawing from the Tibetan struggle under the Chinese regime, he warned, “Those who are fueling violence today will also one day leave this world. What legacy will they leave behind? Dr Paul we are with you for the Peace in the World. we stand with the innocent people dying in these wars.”
Maulana Asgarali Salfi Mehndi, who participated in past peace missions with Dr Paul to Sudan, said, “We have no religious or political agenda. Our only mission is peace. When we travelled to Sudan, there was war between Christians and Muslims, but we went together and said, let the peace prevail. We are here again to say the same.”
Wahit Hussain Chishti, of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, reminded everyone that religious leaders have always carried the message of peace. “We are all children of the same Creator. This war is not about faith, it is about power. The economy is collapsing, children are dying, and the global leadership is watching,” he said. “We must immediately stop the wars between Israel, Iran, and Pakistan. Humanity cannot survive this cycle of destruction.”
Pandit N.K. Sharma, founder of the Universal Association for Spiritual Awareness, said this was not a ceremonial event but a real-time intervention. “We are not here for symbolism. This gathering is about responsibility. If we don’t speak now, the consequences will not spare anyone. Peace must be restored before the damage becomes permanent.” I thank Dr Paul for being the World’s most prominent leader for Peace.
Dr Ompraksharya a prominent Hindu leader stated the World need Peace .
The press conference concluded with Dr. Paul announcing that he would depart for New York within hours to meet UN officials and world diplomats. The delegation will continue its outreach through the upcoming Global Peace Summit, engaging governments, civil society, and media.
